HYDERABAD, June 21: The Jamshoro chapter of the Sindh United Party on Saturday accused the district nazim and the chieftain of Kohistan of committing excesses against the party workers and warned the Sindh government of serious consequences if it failed to enforce its writ in the district.
Speaking at a news conference at the press club, Jamshoro SUP president Mir Moula Bux Leghari and member of the party’s central committee, Malik Nadir Khan alleged that police arrested one of their workers, Ghulam Shabbir Shaikh, who was also present at the press conference, one and a half month ago and kept him in illegal detention at Thano Bula Khan, Nooriabad, More, Seri, Karchat, Bhan Syedabad police stations and police posts.
They said that during that period they had approached Jamshoro DPO and Nooriabad SPO on many occasions but they showed their ignorance about Ghulam Shabbir who had been taken away by the personal guards of the chieftain and Thano Bula Khan police.
They said that at last Hyderabad DIG Sanaullah Abbasi took a brave action by issuing an ultimatum to Thano Bula Khan police to produce Ghulam Shabbir before him within eight days and appointed ASP cantonment as inquiry officer.
They alleged that Jamshoro police were more afraid of the chieftain than their own senior officers.
