Tavi bridge named after Benazir

Published June 23, 2008

SIALKOT, June 22: The federal government has named the under-construction bridge over River Tavi as ‘Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Bridge’.

PPP MNA Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan disclosed this while talking to reporters here on Sunday. She said the government had also directed the departments concerned to expedite the work on this project.

Four years ago, the PML-Q government had started the 1,300-foot bridge costing around Rs200 million to provide means of communication to thousands of dwellers of Bajwat and over 80 far flung villages across the river.
