Jr squash begins tomorrow

LAHORE, May 2: In all, 214 boys and girls will take part in the national junior squash championship which will be held at the Punjab Squash Complex from May 4 to 9.

The championship carries a total cash prize of Rs 2,000,000. Out of this amount, Rs 1,50,000 will be awarded to the boys and Rs 50,000 for the girls.

So far 185 boys and 29 girls had confirmed their entries.

The competitions, both in the boys and girls section, will be held in the age categories of Under-19, U-17, U-15 and U-13.

The winner of boys Under-19 event will get Rs 60,000. The Under-17 winner Rs 40,000, Under-15 Rs 30,000 and Under-13 Rs 20,000.

In the girls section, the Under-19 winner will be honoured with a cash prize of Rs 20,000, Under-17 Rs 13,000, Under-15 Rs 10,000 and Under-13 Rs 7,000.

The two-day qualifying round in each age category will be held on May 4 and 5.

The main round will begin from May 6. The final will be played on May 9.
