PARACHINAR, June 23: Eight drivers, who were kidnapped last week during an attack on a food convoy near Sadda town in the Kurram Agency, were found dead on Monday.

Officials said their bodies were found in Faqir Cave, an abandoned area near the Arawali Fort in lower Kurram. Witnesses said that some of the bodies were headless and their hands and legs had also been chopped off.

Armed men had killed four drivers and kidnapped eight others in the attack on the convoy in the Pir Qayum village near Sadda town on last Thursday. Paramilitary troops retaliated and killed five assailants.

Meanwhile, an armed group of the Tury tribe has given a deadline to the political administration to leave Parachinar as early as possible.

It alleged that the administration had failed to provide protection to people and government officials in the area and had become a party in the ongoing conflict.
