KARACHI, June 24: Three ships scheduled to load/offload containers and iron ore were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, five more vessels carrying containers, iron ore, edible oil, diesel oil and chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Eight ships, Maersk Ohio, Sea Land Patriot, Alexi-3, Berenice, Ataqa, Al-Salam-II, Vasa IIhan and Venus, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, diesel oil and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 75,924 tons comprising 48,126 tons of import and 27,798 tons of export tonnage was handled.

AI-Salam-II, Yasa Ilhan and Maersk Ohio sailed out while Sea Land Patriot was expected to depart.
