KARACHI, June 24: Punjab’s Raees Khan hammered a century break in his 4-3 triumph against province-mate Mohammad Asif Toba in the 12th Style Snooker Championship at Karachi Club on Tuesday.

Raees struggled to overcome his opponent in the fully stretched battle by notching up the first century break of the contest in the second frame with the scores being 52-4, 125-7, 35-68, 73-40, 11-64, 49-72, 66-15.

He carved out 4-0 win over against Ayaz Khan in his group ‘C’ match on the opening day of the event.

Reigning national champion Mohammad Sajjad, also from Punjab, conjured up his second successive win when he got the better of Sindh’s Qasim Kamani 4-1. He was home 63-26, 60-15, 21-63, 58-15, 66-41.

Veteran Mohammad Yousuf recovered from 2-4 loss against Naveen Perwani in the opening fixture to post a 4-0 win over Abdul Sattar. Final scores were; 55-19, 63-24, 78-16, 55-37.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad-based Shahram Changezi continued his winning spree when he inflicted a 4-1 defeat on Naveen Perwani with the scores 48-70, 68-39, 85-4, 68-45, 61-24.
