OIC telecom, IT moot planned

LAHORE, July 2: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry will organise a three-day OIC telecom and IT conference and Expo here from July 22, in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority and the Institute of Telecommunication Engineers.

A number of experts from telecommunications and Information Technology would speak on issues being faced by these sectors in Pakistan and the OIC region.

The conference would also focus on telecom tariff issues among OIC countries, deregulation in telecom sector, challenges of privatisation, growth of SMEs in telecom and IT areas and role of IT and telecom in media development.

Companies from Bangladesh and Iran are likely to participate in this conference and expo, apart from a sizable number of foreign delegates.
