KINGSTON (Jamaica), July 2: World 100-meter record holder Usain Bolt, former 100 record holder Asafa Powell and reigning 200m Olympic champion Veronica Campbell-Brown head the Jamaican team named to the Beijing Olympics.

Bolt, who ran 9.72 seconds on May 31 at New York to break Powell’s old mark of 9.74, and Campbell-Brown, who ran 22.05 to win the 200m in Athens, join Powell as Jamaica’s leading medal contenders.

Aleen Bailey and Sherone Simpson, both members of the sprint relay winning team in Athens, along with Maurice Smith, silver medallist in the Decathlon from Osaka, are also included in the 51-member squad.
