SANGHAR, July 4: Three people were killed and 12 others were injured in a clash between members of two communities in Deewan village near Sinjhoro on Friday.

Some men of Channa clan attacked Dr Mitha Khan Rajar when he was at his clinic.

After the incident, dozens of Rajar and Channa tribesmen came out of their houses and clashed. Both the sides used firearms, axes and sticks in the fight.

Dr Mitha Khan Rajar, his cousin Dilbar Rajar, and ten-year-old fourth class student Wahid Ali Rajput, who got wounded in the crossfire, died on the spot.

Twelve other people, Dost Ali, Khuda Bux, Ghulam Hussain, Anwar, Wasayo, Misri, Ali Mohammad, Hakim, Karim, Trimo and two others whose names could not be ascertained got injured.

Police have been deployed in the Deewan village to stop further clashes.

The motive behind the clash is said to be an argument between Dr Mitha Khan and some Channa tribesmen over a petty issue which erupted into a bloody clash.

Sinjhoro police lodged two FIRs against both the parties.

Sanghar DPO Dr Waliullah Dal reached there to control the situation and for investigation.

The DPO told Dawn that Dost Ali Channa had restrained the deceased doctor from entering into the village over suspicions that he had relations with a woman of their clan.
