KARACHI, July 7: Wapda have announced a 32-member squad for the Pakistan Premier Football League 2008 which kicks off in the last week of July.

The six-time champions of the event, Wapda which also completed a hat-trick of wins in the 48th, 49th and 50th editions of the tournament, have a new coach in the 1989 SAF Games gold medalist Khalid Butt.

Other teams taking part in the event are: Army, Navy, Khan Research Laboratories, Karachi Port Trust, PIA, KESC, PTV, National Bank of Pakistan, Habib Bank Limited, Chaman’s Afghan Club, Punjab Medical College Faisalabad, Pakistan Steel, Pak Elektron Limited.

The winner of the 182-match league also earns the honour of being named the 54th National Football Champion, eligible to feature in the fifth AFC President’s Cup qualifiers in 2009.
