DADU, July 11: Social workers and political activists took out a rally on Friday in protest against occupation of a plot near a historic fort in Sehwan.

Liaquat Ali Jatoi, Shir Mallah, Abdul Razzaq Rind and Ihsan Mallah led the protest.

They said that some criminal elements had occupied the plot near the historic fort of Sehwan.They regretted that influential people of the area were supporting the criminals.

The protesters threatened that if action were not taken against the illegal occupants, they would intensify their protest.

Meanwhile, growers of taluka Sehwan staged a demonstration outside the shrine of Qalandar Lal Shahbaz on Friday for not starting the work on Danister Wah pumping scheme.

A grower, Mohammad Khan Bhutto, said that hundreds of small growers of taluka Sehwan were cultivating their lands on pumping scheme of Danister Wah, but irrigation officials were not starting this scheme.
