ISLAMABAD, July 13: Pakistan on Sunday rejected Indian government’s allegation about involvement of the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) in last week’s attack on the Indian embassy in Kabul.

It was unfair for India to blame Pakistan without any solid evidence, Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar said. However, he added, such baseless allegations would not affect Pakistan-India relations.

Talking to media personnel, the defence minister termed the Indian Embassy blast a bid to destabilise relations between the two countries and said it was not sagacious to level allegations without any proof, especially when efforts are being made to improve ties.

The defence minister was reacting to a statement by India’s national security adviser M.K. Narayanan accusing Pakistan’s intelligence agency of being involved in the attack.

Information Minister Sherry Rehman also denied the Indian allegation.
