LAHORE, July 17: Playing down the brawl incident between Pakistan and Indian players during the Junior Asia Cup hockey semi-final on Wednesday the secretary Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) said there was nothing serious and the matter had been resolved by the field umpires.
Talking to Dawn, PHF secretary Asif Bajwa said he contacted Pakistan coach Jahangir Butt in India and he informed that no action was taken by the umpires or the tournament’s technical committee on the incident.
He said initially it was noted that the incident started after Pakistan player Mohammed Irfan and India’s Chandi exchanged hot words against each other.
However, he said Jahangir would file a detailed report to the PHF on the incident after the team returns home on Sunday.
Pakistan lost the semi-final 3-1.
