Man shot dead

ISLAMABAD, July 21: A man was shot dead allegedly by his rivals here on Monday, police said.

The deceased was identified as Naeem Khan who was said to be in his 30s and a native of Mohmand Agency.

The police said he was a watchman by profession and guarded a market at Satra Meel during the night. While returning from his workplace, he was intercepted by two persons at Gujuot near Alipur where he lived. The culprits pulled out their pistols and started indiscriminate fire on him as a result of which he was seriously injured. The killers escaped from the scene leaving him in a pool of blood.

On hearing the gunshot the people from the nearby area rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the hospital where he died.

The father of the victim was reluctant to lodge a complaint of the incident, saying that he had old enmity in his native town for the last 30 years. However, he was not sure that who were behind the killing. Later he lodged the complaint on the request of the police, who registered a case and started investigation.
