The president of Tando Mohammad Khan chapter of PML-Q, Mir Ali Nawaz Talpur, said at a news conference here that the rulers had forgotten the promises they had made during election campaign and the situation had worsened to such an extent that people could not even afford one square meal for their family.

He said that the politico-economic situation of the country was going from bad to worse and the government had failed to deliver the goods. The killing of the chief security officer of Bilawal House Khalid Shahanshah spoke volumes for the government’s failure, he said.

Talpur said that with increase in price of fuel, the prices of essential food items had gone through the roof and the poor were committing suicide due to hunger, poverty and unemployment.

He said that people had given a massive mandate to the Pakistan People’s Party for the solution of their problems and in the name Ms Benazir Bhutto but they were now disappointed as the crisis had multiplied after the party came into power.

A reign of terror and victimisation had been unleashed against the PML-Q activists throughout the province, he alleged and at the same advised rulers to take effective measures to control price hike instead of counting their days in power.
