HYDERABAD, July 23: The newly-appointed office-bearers of the Irrigation Workers Central Labour Union have said that there is only one dispensary in Jamshoro Barrage Colony which cannot cater to the needs of workers and demanded that at least a 50-bed hospital should be constructed in the colony.

President of the union Mohammad Ayoub Memon, senior vice-president Jhando Khan Almani, general secretary Raza Mohammad Dahiri and others told a press conference here on Wednesday that there was a shortage of residential quarters in the colony.

They demanded that at least 1,000 flats should be constructed for the irrigation department’s employees.
