LONDON, July 23: Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrived here on Wednesday on a three-day official visit.

Immediately after arrival, he met David Cameron, leader of the opposition in the House of Commons, and later called on Hazel Blears, Secretary of State for Communities.

On Thursday, Mr Qureshi will speak at the International Institute for Strategic Studies on “Imperative for Peace and Prosperity in South Asia – Pakistan’s Perspective.”

He will meet Secretary for Defence Des Browne in the afternoon and in the evening he is scheduled to meet shadow Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, William Hague.

On Friday, the foreign minister will meet Commonwealth Secretary-General Kamlesh Sharma and call on Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs David Miliband. He will meet British Pakistanis along with Mr Miliband.

Before leaving the UK, Mr Qureshi will speak at a joint media conference at the international media centre.
