HYDERABAD, July 27: People in authority have unleashed a reign of terror against their political rivals in the Tando Allahyar district and elected representatives of the people are being harassed, intimidated and implicated in false cases to pressurise them to change their loyalties.

This was stated by Haji Abdullah Daudani, nazim union council of Began Jarwar, taluka Chambar district of Tando Allahyar at a news conference at the Hyderabad Press Club on Sunday.

He claimed that male and female councillors of his union council had been kidnapped to force them to table a no-confidence motion against him.

Police were being used to pressurise councillors to change their loyalty, Daudani said and added that the only fault of his councillors was that they were affiliated with the Azad Magsi Ittehad.

“We are the supporters of Tando Allahyar District Nazim Dr Raheela Gul Magsi,” Daudani said and added that he was pressurised to support the no confidence vote against Dr Raheela but on his refusal his councillors had been kidnapped to table the motion against him.

He challenged his opponents to bring all the councillors in the house and table the no confidence motion against him.

He said many attempts had been made to remove District Nazim Raheela Gul Magsi and false cases were registered but the majority of the councillors passed the district government budget presented by the district nazim.

He said all-out efforts were made to remove taluka nazim of Chambar, Abdul Fayaz Shaikh, who is the husband of Dr Raheela but all such attempts were foiled.

He charged that his naib nazim, Dr Jameel Jarwar, was also being held incommunicado and his house was raided by police and since then his whereabouts were not known.

He claimed that the PPP leader, Abdus Sattar Bachani, had made the lives of the poor people miserable.

He threatened to approach the court for the recovery of kidnapped councillors and to lodge FIRs against their kidnappings.
