SUKKUR, July 28: Timely action of Sukkur police saved two women and a minor girl from getting killed on the pretext of karo-kari in Lashkari Shaikh village of the Kandhra area, near here on Monday. The men were about to kill after declaring them kari.

The DPO Sukkur, Sharjeel Kharal received information that the lives of two women and a minor girl were in danger as their relatives wanted to finish them on the accusation of kar-kari.

He immediately ordered Kan-dhra police to raid the village and recover two women and a girl, safely.

Kandhra police recovered the three and brought them to the DPO office. In an initial statement before the DPO, the two women said that their brothers wanted to kill them on the allegation of karo-kari. They appealed to the DPO to provide them security and lodge them in Darul Amman.

All three were sent to Darul Amman. On Tuesday, they will be produced in the court of law for recording their statements.

The DPO avoided giving details to journalists and told them to wait until Tuesday when all legal formalities will be completed.
