HYDERABAD, July 31: Town Planning Department Director Tahir Ahmed has announced that under provisions of Town Planning Act and Sindh Building Control Ordinance 1979 and 1982 no private housing scheme and commercial building could be launched or advertised and its plots could be booked to general public without prior approval of his office.
He, however, said that advertisements were appearing in newspapers wherein illegal housing schemes under the name of Erum Avenue Apartments and Shopping Mall located off Hyderabad road in Tando Adam, Sanghar district, and Sun Shine housing society near Sarhandhi Chowk, Tando Adam road, Mirpurkhas, to attract general public for booking.
He clarified that both these schemes were not approved by the Town Planning Department thus it was a violation of rules and regulation of both above mentioned laws and was liable for legal action.
He advised people to refrain from getting any flat or shop booked in these schemes as they were illegal.
He said that now if people keep booking plot and bungalows despite departmental warning they would be doing it on their own risk and cost for which the department would not be responsible.
He said that legal proceedings were being initiated under relevant provisions of SBCO 1979 and 1982 against sponsor/builder of project for launching illegal project and thereby defrauding public.
RAIN EMERGENCY: Deputy Controller of Civil Defence of Hyderabad Tariq Jawed Qazi has said that in anticipation of heavy rains and flood in monsoon, a civil defence rain/flood control cell has been established in civil defence office which would work round-the-clock.A telephone with the number of 022-9200999 has been installed there as well for complaints.
He said three shifts comprising three officials to keep cell functional would be present. He advised people to contact the cell in any emergency.
