LONDON, Aug 3: Pakistan got off to a good start on the opening day of the World Junior Men’s Team Championship in the Swiss city of Zurich by putting aside Czech Republic 3-0 on the opening day which otherwise produced no surprises.

All the leading seeded countries survived their opening encounters without much ado.

Aamir Atlas Khan, runner-up in the individual championship, led second seed Pakistan to a clean sweep over event newcomers Czech Republic in Pool ‘B’, while favourites Egypt who rested new world champion Mohammed El Shorbagy, beat Finland 3/0 in Pool ‘A’.
