LAHORE, Aug 4: Aisam-ul-Haq of Pakistan and his partner Santiago Gonzalez of Mexico won the Belo Horizonte ATP Challenger Championship in Brazil defeating an all-Brazilian local favourite pair of Danial Silva and Caio Zampieri in the final.

The Brazilian pair had earlier upset the second and the fourth seeded pairs of the championship and were upbeat against the top seeds (Aisam and partner) too.

Aisam and Gonzalez broke their opponents serve in the eighth game at 4-3 to take a 5-3 lead and went on to win the first set with a score of 6-3.

In the second set the battle was more keenly fought and the set went into a tie break before Aisam and his partner won it at 7-6(3).

This was Aisam’s 54th international title.
