HYDERABAD, Aug 5: Hyd-erabad DCO Ali Ahmed Loound has directed the officers concerned to get a plot of land for a girls high school in Tando Hyder vacated and start construction work there within a month.

He issue the directive during a surprise visit to education and health units of the Hyderabad taluka (rural) here on Tuesday.

He asked the officials to get the plot vacated after police officers While visiting Boy High School Tando Hyder, the DCO expressed concern over weak and dilapidated condition of the schools’ roofs.

He directed the officers of building department to repair school buildings for which Rs2.4 million had already been allocated. The repair work should be completed on a war footing as the buildings’ condition was posing threat to school children especially during monsoon season.

Later, the DCO visited Jiando Halepoto village to inspect work on the ongoing construction of Basic Health Unit (BHU) at a cost of Rs7.4 million and a girl primary school at a cost of Rs.3.5 million.

He said that the government was committed to providing all the facilities to people of rural areas on the pattern of urban areas and raise their living standard.

He said that he himself and the members of the vigilance committees constituted by him were paying surprise visits to get public welfare oriented scheme completed with standard work and also to ensure, and efficient deliveries to people through existing institutions.

The DCO warned the officers and officials of Health and Education departments to be punctual and dedicate their energies to the service of people with a missionary spirit.

He made it clear that ghost employees would not be tolerated at any cost and the honest officers would be encouraged.

EXAMINATIONS: The authorities of SAU announced on Tuesday the postgraduate regular examination 2008 of first, third and fifth semester of M.E/MSc/M.Phil/PhD of all faculties scheduled for Aug 8 had been postponed and would now be held from Aug 20 onwards.
