KARACHI, Aug 5: Karachi Port Trust (KPT) beat Pak Elektron Limited (PEL) 1-0 while Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Navy drew 1-1 in Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) matches on Tuesday evening.

After failing to cash in on four chances denied to them by PEL’s goalkeeper Mubarak Ali in the first half of the match played at CDGK Stadium, KPT were finally able to earn their fourth successive league victory in the 48th minute through their winger Zahid Ahmed.

The other match between PIA and Navy at the Korangi Baloch Stadium saw Navy scoring first through a penalty kick that was converted easily by their skipper Mohammad Ramzan in the 13th minute.

Six minutes later, PIA’s striker Shakir Lashari scored the equaliser by again kicking in an already saved shot by Navy’s goalkeeper Mohammad Shahzad, which came back to him on rebound.

The one all score at half time remained so till the blowing of the final whistle.

Wednesday’s fixtures: Pakistan Steel v Army at Pakistan Steel Ground at 5.30pm. Karachi Electric Supply Corporation v Punjab Medical College at Peoples Sports Complex at 5.30pm. Afghan Football Club v PTV at Govt High School, Chaman, at 5.30pm.
