Kirsten loses mother

CAPE TOWN, Aug 8: Indian cricket team’s coach Gary Kirsten lost his mother Gayl Hall who died of lung cancer in a hospital. She was 64.

Kirsten had rushed to South Africa on Tuesday, mid-way through India’s tour of Sri Lanka, to be with his mother.

Paddy Upton, the mental conditioning coach, took charge of the Indian team for the ongoing third Test in Colombo.

Kirsten is yet to tell whether he will join the team for the one-day series that begins on Aug 18.—Agencies
