WASHINGTON, Aug 9: The move to impeach President Pervez Musharraf will weaken the campaign for restoring the judges forced to step down after the imposition of emergency, says Tehrik-i-Insaaf chief Imran Khan.

“If they have enough votes to impeach the president, what prevents them from restoring the judges first,” asked the TI chief.

At a news briefing in Washington, Mr Khan said that the real fight in Pakistan was “between pro and anti-status quo forces and those opposing the restoration of judges want to protect the status quo”.

Mr Khan claimed that President Musharraf had already become “irrelevant for both America and the army”.
