BEIJING, Aug 10: Pakistan’s 110-metre hurdler Abdul Rashid on Sunday said he was thrilled to be at the Olympics here and meeting world’s most exciting athletes Tyson Gay was a dream come true for him.

“It was great to meet world's greatest sprinter Tyson Gay and tennis superstar Roger Federer here,” he said in an interview at the Olympic Village in Beijing. “These are the most unforgettable moments of my life as they are the legends of modern day sports,” he said.

Speaking about his own schedule at the Games, Rashid said he will be in action on the 18th at the 110-metre hurdles heats. “My ambition is to improve my own record and to create a new national record,” the 29-year-old said.

He maintained that his personal best in the 110-metre hurdles was 13.88 seconds and 14.15sec on the electronic system. Rashid said it was a great experience to train alongside the best sprinters of the world and he had learnt a lot by spending time with them. - APP
