HYDERABAD, Aug 12: DIG police Hyderabad zone Sanaullah Abbasi has issued standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the private security companies after noticing serious lapses in modus operandi for providing security to banks.

He said that any violation of it would expose them to action under law and recommendations would be made to concerned authority for cancellation of their licenses.

The SOPs are issued in the wake of August 5 bank robbery in which over Rs15.2 million were looted from the van of a private security agency.

The DIG told representatives of security companies that their guards mostly remained engaged in orderly work instead of security. Required number of guards did not travel in armoured vehicle during delivery of cash and they were unaware of how to ensure security during delivery of cash inside or outside the bank from the vehicle, he said.
