Ding new Asian champion

KARACHI, May 6: Ding Jun Hui of China was crowned as the new Asian snooker champion when he won the 19th edition of the competition beating Keith Bonn of Singapore 8-2 in the final played at Jiangmen City (China).

According to message received Monday the Chinese dominated totally dominated the final.

Ding showing superb potting and tactical position play, notched-up 87-8, 49-63, 61-45, 97-37, 67-19, 20-83, 82-27, 69-63, 71-14, 85-15 victory.

Singaporean Keith Boon took the second and fifth frame otherwise Ding controlled the game. Ding made the break of 54 in the opening frame while Keith made the break of 81 in the fifth frame.

In the meantime Pakistan cueists Farhan Mirza and Khurram Agha returned Sunday.

Farhan lost in the pre-quarterfinals while Khurram failed to make the knock-out stage of the championship.—APP
