HYDERABAD, Aug 21: Talks between the Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) committee and Employees Action Committee collapsed on Wednesday when the latter insisted on payment of salaries of protesting employees and discussion of corruption by the administration and fresh appointments on the basis of favouritism and nepotism.

The SAU Syndicate had appointed two-member committee to hold talks with the employees committee only on their problems and nothing else.

However, the other party insisted on giving up all their demands and agreed to face charges at all forums provided an inquiry was initiated into alleged malpractices of the university administration.

On the other hand, strike by employees continued on the 48th day, bringing to a halt all academic and other activities with reports trickling that the employees from next week would begin strike unto death.

AUDITORIUM: Women development is important and scholars should help in bringing about social changes through it, said Vice Chancellor Sindh University Mazharul Haq Siddiqui.

This he said on Thursday while inaugurating the Auditorium of Institute of Women Development Studies (IWDS) constructed at the cost of Rs21 million, on Thursday.

Deans of faculties, heads of teaching and administrative sections and a large number of scholars and students attended the inaugural ceremony.

EXAMS RESCHEDULED: Controller of Examinations, University of Sindh, on Thursday announced that the college side External Examinations of BA (pass) Part-I and MA (previous) scheduled for August 26, will now be held from October 14.
