ISLAMABAD, Aug 22: The government announced on Friday appointment of Abdullah Hussain Haroon as Ambassador and Pakistan’s Permanent Rep-resentative to the United Nations.

Born on October 21, 1950, Mr Haroon served as member of the Sindh provincial assembly from 1985 to 1988, its speaker from 1985 to 1986 and as leader of the opposition from 1986 to 1988.
