RAWALPINDI, Aug 23: Another group of 282 Pakistanis deported from Turkey arrived at Islamabad airport on a PIA flight on Saturday.
A senior immigration official said all the deportees were taken into custody by the immigration officials and shifted to the FIA passport cell for further investigation. He said majority of the deportees were from Gujranwala district.
Most of the deportees said they had paid Rs350,000 to Rs50,000 to agents who took them to Iran. Later, they entered Turkey to be pushed into Greece.
They said in detention centres, they were meted out inhuman treatment and forced to drink stinking water and eat substandard food. Pakistanis repatriated in recent days from Turkey say they have suffered months of detention and abuse in prison.
BODY FOUND: Police found an abandoned tin box containing the decomposed body of a young girl lying in a green field near Lahore High Court’s building here on Saturday.
A police official, who is investigating into the incident, told Dawn that the unidentified body was wrapped in a white sheet of cloth. He said the girl's age was between 9 and 10 years and the body seemed to be one week old.
He said nothing else was found from the box except a handbag containing her clothes and two pairs of sandals.
The IO said it seemed that the box was dropped there by the killers some time during last night as there were fresh marks of car tyres in the field.
He said there was one mark on her chin; however, the actual cause of her death is yet to be established. The police shifted the body to the District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem.
The IO said it would be too early to establish whether the girl was subjected to sexual assault before being murdered till the chemical examiner's report is received.
KILLED: A man was murdered by his father in Kotli Sattian area on Friday. Police said Idris Azam was strangled by his father Zaheer Azam over a domestic dispute. The alleged killer has been arrested.

Attiqueur Rehman told the Sadar Barooni police that in his absence burglars took away Rs400,000, $2,000 and six gold bangles after breaking the lock of the house.
Kishwar Sultan was deprived of British pounds 6,000, gold ornaments and two digital cameras after burglars broke into her house in the Airport police area in her absence.
Tariq Mehmood's car was stolen from Khayaban-i-Sirsyed, Mohammad Saleem's motorcycle was taken away from Banni area, Haji Dilawar's motorcycle was lifted from the city area; Mohammad Khalid's motorcycle was taken away from Satellite Town while Fida Mohammad Khan's motorcycle was stolen in RA Bazaar.
