Published August 26, 2008

QUETTA, Aug 25: Parliamentary groups in Balochistan’s ruling coalition have announced support for Pakistan People’s Party’s co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari in the presidential election.

Leaders of the groups said at a press conference after a meeting on Monday that all coalition partners, including PML-Q groups in the Balochistan assembly, had decided to vote for Mr Zardari.

They said it was not possible for them to adopt a resolution in the assembly in this regard because there was not enough time for it.

Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, Mir Sadiq Ali Umrani, Mir Asim Kurd, Asfandyar Kakar, Amanullah Notizai, Amin Umrani and Qambar Gichki addressed the press conference.
