KARACHI, Aug 26: Brothers Aqeel Khan and Yasir Khan have been placed in the main round of 15,000 US dollars ITF Futures being held at Chennai from Sept 1.

Yasir, 19, had undergone a 10-day training session at Ludhiana’s Harvest Tennis Academy from Aug 14 to 24 before accompanying his elder brother to Chennai, family sources said on Tuesday.

Aqeel, the country’s top tennis player, had left for India in the third week of July where he had featured in two ITF Challengers at Delhi. In the opener, he lost in the first qualifying round while in the next he went down to a Japanese opponent in the first round of main draw after winning the qualifiers.

The two brothers are to compete in another ITF Futures which runs at Delhi from Sept 8 before returning home by the middle of next month.
