NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Aug 30: A woman, whose brother-in-law had cut her hair, beat her and her children and had looted her gold jewellery on Thursday night, staged a demonstration with her husband and children outside Naushahro Feroze Press Club on Saturday against Moro investigation police.

Ms Munawar Sultana, resident of ward No.3 of Moro, told journalists that the brother of her husband, Roshan Ali Khokhar who is a police sub-inspector, had some disagreements with them over property.

She said on Thursday night her brothers-in-law, Abdul Sattar, Wazir, Abdul Jabbar, Zaheer and others forcibly entered her house and tortured her and her children and cut her hairs and looted their gold ornaments and escaped.

Ms Munawar Sultana further said that despite the registration of an FIR against the accused the investigation police was not arresting them due to their influence.

The protesting family demanded of the police authorities to take notice of the case and order action against the investigation police officers and ensure their arrest.

They alleged that the accused were issuing threats of dire consequences.

They claimed that Abdul Sattar who is the president of Moro goldsmith association, was using his influence and money against them to usurp their property.

BOYCOTT: Employees of the health department of Civil Hospital boycotted the OPD on Saturday and took out a rally to protest against the non-implementation of job quota for the deceased and retired employees’ children.
