HYDERABAD, Aug 31: The district government has issued a price list of essential commodities. The list has been prepared in consultation with the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and wholesalers’ and retailers’ associations.

The list has been distributed among shopkeepers with the instruction to display it in their shops and not to charge extra from people.

Meanwhile, District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has directed the officials of the district government to ensure availability of good quality edible items at fixed rates and take extra security measures during Ramazan.

He was speaking at a meeting of the district officials at his secretariat.

DCO Ali Ahmed, elected representatives, officials of the police and Hesco and representatives of the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry attended the meeting.

The nazim said complaint centres should be set up at busy trading centres and magistrates should pay surprise visits to markets instead of sitting in the centres.

He directed the managing director of Wasa to ensure water supply and improve the sewerage system during the sacred month and cover all manholes with the lid.

He urged Hesco officials to reduce the period of loadshedding and ensure uninterrupted power supply, especially at Sehri and Iftar time.

He directed flour mills to maintain regular supply of wheat flour at their stalls and called the traffic police to deploy more policemen to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

He accepted the proposal of the police department to install closed-circuit cameras at seven sensitive points in the city and said strict action should be taken against the miscreants who harassed women during shopping.
