JACOBABAD, Aug 31: A large number of people under the banner of the Community Development Foundation and the Pirbhat Women Development Society took out a procession on Sunday to protest against the barbaric act of burying five women alive in Jafferabad in Balochistan.

The protesters were carrying banners and placards and were raising slogans against the gruesome incident.

The procession started from outside the foundation’s office and after marching on different roads of the city the protesters reached the press club.

Speaking on the occasion, Jan Odhano, Mubeena Chandio, Fehmida Bugti, Abdul Ghaffar Brohi, Abdul Jabbar Lashari and others condemned the barbaric killings of innocent women who were buried alive only because they wanted to marry of their own free will.

They said that in the 21st century such gruesome and inhumane acts had reminded them of dark ages.

The speakers demanded legal action against those responsible for the act.
