Malik, PPP ministers call on Taseer

LAHORE, Aug 31: Prime Minister’s Adviser for Interior Affairs Rehman Malik and other PPP stalwarts called on Governor Salman Taseer here at the Governor’s House on Sunday to what sources said discuss the forthcoming presidential election.

Sources said former Punjab chief minister Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, almost all PPP Punjab ministers and Mr Qasim Zia also met the governor.

They said the PPP leaders discussed the party strategy for ensuring maximum votes in Punjab for Mr Asif Ali Zardari. They also discussed the conduct of the PML-N government, and how to block the PPP opponents’ plans to thwart the election of Mr Zardari as the next president of Pakistan.
