HYDERABAD, Sept 3: Sindh Civil Services and Local Government Academy Director-General Mohammad Ibrahim Qureshi has recommended establishment of reconciliation courts, particularly for providing justice to women embroiled in domestic disputes.

He was speaking at the concluding ceremony of a four-day training programme arranged for women councillors of Tando Allahyar district in collaboration with the UNDP and the Sindh Planning and Development Department at the Academy in Tandojam on Wednesday.

Mr Qureshi said that women were an effective force of manpower and they must be engaged in development activities for which concerned authorities should create more opportunities along with training courses.

He said women must be engaged to utilise district government’s development funds under the head of Citizens Community Board through public-private participatory approach. He said the district governments must concentrate on capacity building of women councillors and other welfare activities.
