PIAC appoints CDC as shares registrar

Published September 5, 2008

KARACHI, Sept 4: Pakistan International Airlines Corporation (PIAC) has appointed Central Depository Company of Pakistan as its new Shares Registrar and Transfer Agent, effective from August 23, 2008.

CDC Chief Operating Officer Aftab Ahmed Diwan and Company Secretary PIAC Muhammad Shuaib signed the agreement at CDC House.

The CDC has recently introduced Shares Registrar Services (also known as Transfer Agent or R/TA services) to facilitate issuers and their shareholders. R/TA is one of the most important services required by a capital market. In the current market scenario, CDC’s R/TA services are composite enough to become a one-stop solution.

Catering to this need, CDC has launched R/TA services by developing a high-tech Share Accounting System with exclusive Authority & Security Management System and workflow components to offer a composite portfolio of maintenance, registration, verification and direct customer dealing.
