SAHIWAL, Sept 5: A new ground has been broken for a sub-campus of the Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) here.

The plan for the sub-campus was passed three months ago and 58 acre land adjacent to the Government College was allocated for the Rs480 million project. The sub-campus will be completed in phases. In the first phase, administrative and academic blocks will be constructed at a cost of Rs10 million and Rs46.3 million, respectively, in two years.

On its completion, the campus will accommodate 2,750 students in 24 disciplines. Currently, the BZU sub-campus is located in a rented building of the Government College and about 650 students are studying there.
