LAHORE, Sept 9: Three countries, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Canada have confirmed their participation in a quadrangular Twenty20 tournament to be held in Canada from Oct 10 to 13 while the West Indies has yet to confirm their entry.

Sources said Sri Lanka signed the contract on Tuesday and the West Indies are likely to confirm participation in the next few days.

The selectors are likely to make a couple of changes in the team, which was announced for the postponed Champions Trophy. Bazid Khan is likely to be dropped, while paceman Shoaib Akhtar’s inclusion will also be debatable.

Chief selector Salahuddin Ahmed, sources said was to return home from Scotland on Saturday and he would finalise a 15-member team for the Canada tour.

Earlier, the tournament was to be held in August, but the West Indies refused participation. Bangladesh were also participating in August, but they were not available in October, therefore, Sri Lanka has been included.

Moreover, sources said there were no chances for the away home series against Sri Lanka, which the PCB wanted this month as an alternate for the Champions Trophy after its postponement till next year due to security concerns in Pakistan.
