GIS system in Hyderabad soon

HYDERABAD, Sept 11: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has said that the office of the geographical information system will soon be established at the Civic Centre with its programming backup data office at the office of the EDO revenue.

He said that information would be available on district government master plan, maps, education, population, land use, properties, transportation and health at this system.

He was speaking at a meeting at his secretariat here on Thursday. The officials concerned of the district government and the consultant of a private company involved in the city’s development attended the meeting.

The nazim said that information about different departments of the district government up to union council level would be available at the GIS office.

Initially, the GIS organisation would work under the supervision of the building control department but at a later stage it would be declared separate department, Mr Jamil said and added that the system would also be linked with the district government website.
