DADU, Sept 12: A large number of historical and archaeological sites were in deteriorated condition in the district as federal archaeology department has miserably failed to take care of these sites. Now Sindh Culture and Tourism Department has embarked upon a plan to protect these archaeological sites.
This was stated by minister for Culture and Tourism Sassui Palijo while talking to journalists after visiting the tombs of former ruler of Sindh Yar Mohammad Kalhoro and the historic mosque of Khudabad here on Thursday.
Earlier, she also visited the Rani Kot fort. Archaeologist Naseem Jalbani also accompanied her.
Sassui Palijo announced Rs10 million for the repair of Khudabad mosque, and said that Rs2.5 million will be released within one week. She said that a master plan of Rs190 million was made for Rani Kot fort, where cultural complex, museum, art gallery and an auditorium will be constructed.
She said that research on Rani Kot Fort was needed. She said that a book will be published on Rani Kot fort after research.
She also visited Gorakh Hill Station and said that Sindh Assembly through a bill has set-up Gorakh development authority and more funds will be released for this tourism place.
