KARACHI, Sept 12: Ghani XI turned Karachi United’s sure victory into a 2-2 draw in KASB Premier League Football’s 27th encounter played at the CDGK Stadium on Thursday night.

The initial 10 minutes of the match, saw Karachi United on constant attack but Ghani XI’s goalkeeper Khair Mohammad also kept alert, saving four of their sure shot goals. The score at interval was 0-0.

The match’s first goal was scored by Ghani XI, when their striker Atif Ali headed a corner kick directly into the goal in the 54th minute. But the 65th minute of play saw Karachi United make a substitution in the form of striker Taha Alizai. And parity was restored the very next minute with Taha converting a pass from Mohammad Ramzan.

The 83rd minute saw Karachi United’s midfielder Jameel Ahmed dodge two defenders to kick the ball into the goal from keeper Khair Mohammad’s left. But just two minutes later, Ghani XI came up with their counter attack. A cross from Jamaluddin was promptly converted by striker Gul Mohammad to draw the match.

After completion of four matches, Ghani XI have five points, while Karachi United have two.

Yellow cards were awarded to Ghani XI’s Mohammad Nadeem, Hashmatullah and Zahoor Ahmed by referee Adnan Khan. And this was the second yellow card for Nadeem and Hashmatullah, which prevents them from playing their next match against Hazara Mohammadan on Sept 16.
