KARACHI, Sept 12: Adnan Malik captured four wickets to bowl Tapal Cricket Club to a commanding eight-wicket victory over Delhi City Gymkhana in the 23rd Karachi Gymkhana Ramazan Twenty20 cricket tournament here on Thursday.

Adnan grabbed the top four wickets for mere eight runs in his four overs. Interestingly none of the batsmen he dismissed failed to open their account. Six Delhi City batsmen went for duck as their team crashed to 68 all out.

Tapal CC reached the target in 11.2 overs with eight wickets in hand.

Star Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who shared the new ball with Adnan, was taken for 26 runs in his opening over. He finished with figures of three wickets for 38.

While six of the top seven batsmen of Delhi Gymkhana perished without scoring, number four Imranullah made three sixes and a four in his 17-ball 26. Jalat Khan and Iftikhar Ali added 16 for the ninth wicket to take the total beyond 50 but their eventual total of 68 remained the lowest of the tournament.

Ahmed Zeeshan Malik and Shahid Afridi came out to open the Tapal CC innings with just 69 needed off 20 overs.

Afridi clouted three sixes and remained 37 not out.

Summarised scores:

DELHI CITY GYMKHANA 68 in 15.2 overs (Imranullah 26, Jalat Khan 11; Adnan Kaleem 4-8, Shahid Afridi 3-38, Naumanullah 2-10); TAPAL CC 68-2 in 11.2 overs (Shahid Afridi 37 not out, Ahmed Zeeshan Malik 21).—APP
