MUZAFFARABAD, Sept 12: Indian troops have taken two residents of Azad Kashmir into custody for crossing the Line of Control in Neelum Valley.

According to sources, Mir Afzal 35 and Banaras 25, were cutting fodder along the unmarked line of control near their Rawta village, some 84 kilometres northeast of here, when they inadvertently crossed the line.

Deputy Commissioner Neelum Ahmed Attaullah confirmed the incident and said it had been brought to the knowledge of the military authorities.

“They were captured by the Indian troops at around 10am on Thursday but we came to know about it late in the evening.”

He said the military authorities would call a flag meeting with their Indian counterparts in the area to get the two people freed.

It may be mentioned that India and Pakistan have discussed the issue of inadvertent crossings of the LoC or the international boundary many a time and agreed that such people should be returned soon.
