HYDERABAD, Sept 14: Activists of the Hands off Venezuela campaign held a demonstration outside the press club on Sunday in protest against coup attempts in Venezuela and Bolivia, which they said were masterminded by America, and attacks on Pak-Afghan border.

The protesters belonging to the Youth for International Socialism, Berozgar Noujawan Tehrik and Pakistan Trade Union Defense Campaign raised slogans against the US and burnt the US flag.

Veteran communist leader and coordinator of the campaign, Comrade Jam Saqi, said that the Americans had been helpless before revolutionary measures of President Chavez in Venezuela and President Morales in Bolivia and had been conspiring to topple their governments.

He said that the two leaders had launched an aggressive drive for nationalisation of industry to the benefit of the poor and the working classes of their countries. And naturally, the imperialist forces could not tolerate it, he said.

He also condemned American transgressions into Pakistan.—Bureau
