PESHAWAR, Sept 15: Chief Minister NWFP Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said on Monday that his government would fight for the provincial rights at all fronts and that a jirga under his leadership would soon be meeting with the president and the prime minister to take up the issue of net hydel profit with them.

Talking to a delegation from Balochistan headed by Mir Changeez Khan Jamali who called on the chief minister at the Frontier House on Monday, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said that the processes to resolve the net hydel profit issue with Centre would be forwarded on basis of the decision of the Arbitration Tribunal of Rs1,100 billion.

The delegation also discussed matters related to law and order situation, provincial rights, autonomy and developmental strategy in the province with the chief minister.

Talking to the delegation, the chief minister said that Islamabad owes Rs100 billion to the province since 1991, but their claim was the payment of net profit since 1973 and they would never withdraw from this demand, said a handout.

Ameer Haider said the province was facing multiple problems due to power loadshedding and hurdles in the way of wheat import from Punjab. “Our province always relies on Punjab for food,” he said. The chief minister expressed the hope that the political leadership due its policies and cooperation would lead to a conclusion on the issue of provincial rights.
