PPP leaders hail cut in petrol price

LAHORE, Sept 15: Pakistan People’s Party Punjab President and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says the common man will benefit from Rs5 per litre decrease in petrol price.

In a statement issued here on Monday, he said the government was forced to raise prices owing to increase in international prices.

The prices had now been reduced proportionate to the decrease in the international prices. He said the economy was facing a crisis when the PPP came into power.

PPP Deputy Information Secretary Senator Sajjad Bokhari and Punjab PPP Secretary-General Ghulam Abbas said the decrease in petrol price would result in decrease in prices of other essential commodities.
